You feel like you’re walking on eggshells in your own home—disconnected from your teen and completely exhausted. You don’t trust them, and they don’t trust you… or they’re trusting all the wrong people. They’re lying, shutting you out, or exploding over things that seem small—and you’re left feeling worried, frustrated, and wondering how to help without pushing them even further away.
Or maybe it shows up in your relationship…
You feel like you’re carrying the weight of it all—the mental load, the decision-making, and most of the parenting. You find yourself either shutting down to avoid another conflict… or exploding because it all feels like too much.
Or maybe this has been there for a long time…
You grew up in chaos—like a storm that never really passed—where yelling, unpredictability, or absent caregivers were just part of everyday life. Now, life feels relentless—like there’s no real break between the hard things—and you’re exhausted from carrying it all on your own.
What looks like defensiveness, anger, shutdown, or control is often a nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do under stress.
I help teens, adults, and couples find freedom through healing, understanding, and meaningful connection.
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns of mistrust, reactivity, or disconnection without understanding why. Often these patterns made sense at one time as ways to cope or survive.
Others are parents trying to support a struggling teen and unsure how to move forward.
My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and structured—helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface while building steadier ways to respond.
When mistrust, shutdown, defiance, or explosive reactions take over, families often feel exhausted, confused, and stuck.
These behaviors are rarely just “bad behavior.” They’re often signs that a teen’s nervous system is overwhelmed and struggling to cope.
I work directly with teens while partnering with parents in thoughtful ways that reduce escalation and help create steadier patterns at home.
Childhood and complex trauma can shape how you respond to stress, relationships, and even your own thoughts.
Many adults carry these patterns for years without realizing where they began.
Our work focuses on safety first—building emotional awareness, regulation, and self-trust so old survival patterns no longer run the show.
When conflict feels constant or connection feels distant, relationships can begin to feel tense, reactive, or emotionally draining. Often these patterns are fueled by stress, mistrust, or old wounds that show up in everyday disagreements.
Sessions focus on slowing things down, building regulation, and developing practical communication skills that reduce escalation and rebuild steadier connection.
Sometimes insight alone doesn’t shift patterns that are held in the body and nervous system.
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines trauma-informed therapy with experiential work alongside horses in a calm outdoor setting.
This approach helps build awareness, regulation, and trust through direct experience rather than conversation alone.
